Erstmalig 2020 in Floridsdorf, Wien
präsentiert, danach 2022 auf der Biennale Innsbruck International in Innsbruck
und bei dem Festival Impulse in Düsseldorf, ist GGGNHM eine temporare, begehbare Skulptur und auratische Konzeption
des New Yorker Guggenheim Museums zugleich. Auf spielerische Weise wird mit GGGNHM eine subtile Neugestaltung eines
öffentlichen Raumes suggeriert, welche die Stadt München ausgehend vom Max
Joseph Platz in alle Richtungen - bis nach New York - erschließt.
Das GGGNHM wird als ein möglicher Ort des Denkens und Praktizierens im
öffentlichen Raum situiert, es ist transparente, begehbare Skulptur und soziale
Plastik zugleich. Der Ausstellungsort ermöglicht mit seinem wechselnden
Programm eine Begegnung von Kunstraum und Öffentlichkeit, Festivalgästen,
Passant*innen und vielfaltigen zivilgesellschaftlichen Akteur*innen der Stadt
München. Das Publikum soll zur vitalen Auseinandersetzung mit Bekanntem,
Unbekannten, Gegenwärtigen und Vergangenem angeregt werden. Ausstellung,
Performance und Rahmenprogramm, die sowohl im als auch um das Museum herum
erlebbar sein werden, ziehen den Dialog nach außen, um einen offenen, aber
nicht „lebendigen“ Stadtplatz über die gesamten zwei Festivalwochen zur
kompakten Schnittstelle einer Vielfalt und zum unmittelbaren Stadtkern zu
machen.

Performance und entsprechendem Rahmenprogramm unter dem Titel: DEUTSCHKURS
- GOETHE IN 15 TAGEN seine Tore.
God’s
Entertainment versuchen mit Deutschkurs die
deutsche Sprache in ihren vielfältigen Erscheinungsformen künstlerisch zu
untersuchen: Wie wird sie verwendet und eingesetzt? Welchen Bedürfnissen dient
sie? Welche Funktionen erfüllt sie? Wie performt sie und wem dient sie? Deutschkurs versucht dabei eine
Reihe begrifflicher Unterscheidungen zu diskutieren und das Verhältnis von Sprache und Praxis in
Deutschland zu beleuchten, weil die Erfahrung der Menschen nicht im Begriff
eines Wörterbuchs oder eines Wortes aufgeht.

GGGNHM - guggenheim in floridsdorf? *
öffnete am 17. September 2020. um
19:00 Uhr mit der Ausstellungsreihe REMEMORY seine Tore, in der alle
changierenden Ebenen des Erinnerns, Vergessens und Verschwindens umrissen
werden. Wie ein vitaler Organismus, eine atmende Museumslunge regt REMEMORY die
Besucher*innen zur Auseinandersetzung mit Bekanntem und Unbekanntem,
Gegenwärtigem und Vergangenem an.
REMEMORIES sind Spuren der
Vergangenheit zum Nachdenken über die Gegenwart, ein spielerisch-geistiges
Verhandeln von Sachverhalten, Ideen, Potenzialen und unbequemen Fragen in einer
Zeit des Hin- und Hergerissenseins, zwischen (verklärter) Vergangenheit und
Zukunftsangst.

GGGNHM - guggenheim in innbrooklyn? | Kommt gestern morgen? | Missing
Was hallt nach? Gibt es noch Spuren, Orte, die
das „von Gestern“ aufleben lassen? Das Nachleben faschistoider Ästhetik ist
nicht immer eindeutig erfahrbar. Es ist die wandelnde Fortdauer
unterschwelliger Bilder, vielfach überschrieben, umgedeutet und neu
interpretiert, mal da, mal dort, merklich sichtbar. Die Performance entlarvt
die faschistoide Ästhetik als nicht ausschließlich historische Tatsache,
sondern als eine fluide, zeitgenössische Bilderzählung. (...)
Die performative Fotoarbeit MISSING verhandelt
die Politik von Sichtbarkeit und Erinnerung anhand von Entwicklungsverfahren in
der Fotografie. Wenn die Fotografie die Bewahrung der Erinnerung ist, das
Festhalten von Leben, stellt sich die Frage was mit der Erinnerung passiert,
wenn die Bilder nicht mehr existieren. In Österreich sind im 20. Jahrhundert
unzählige Menschen samt ihren Geschichten aus dem kollektiven Gedächtnis
verschwunden, da die Erinnerung an sie nie fixiert wurde.
MISSING wird es dem Publikum ermöglichen, diesen fließenden, nicht zu fassenden
Übergang vom Entstehen, zum Sein, zum Vergessen zu erleben. (...)

GGGNHM – guggenheim in
oberbilk? Performances und Konzerte, die sowohl im,
als auch um das Museum herum erlebbar sein werden, ziehen den Dialog nach
außen, um einen offenen, aber nicht konsequent bespielten Stadtteil
für knappe 2 Wochen zur kompakten Schnittstelle einer Vielfalt und zum
unmittelbaren Stadtkern zu machen.
Damit wird der Ausstellungsort selbst zum
Werk; der Oberbilk zum Dialog zwischen Kunstraum und Öffentlichkeit,
Kunstpublikum und Markt, BewohnerInnen und MaklerInnen, Berufstätigen und
StudentInnen, DüsseldorferInnen und TouristInnen, der bereits im Vorfeld
angeregt werden soll. Denn das Museum wird in verpackter Form durch die Stadt
auf den Weg geschickt, um seinen "Platz" zu finden und einzelne
Stadtbezirke und ein vielschichtigeres Publikum in den Findungsprozess eines
Kunstkontextes einzubeziehen. So kann das Stilmittel und die Umsetzung dieser
Arbeit als sozialer Plastik vor Ort zum Dialog und das Museum zum interaktivem
Ausstellungsraum im öffentlichen Stadtraum werden und sich Fragen öffnen, wie
z.B. ein Oberbilk als zentraler Kulturraum in der Stadt funktionieren und
temporär zum Zentrum der Kunst Düsseldorfs werden kann.
Schwerpunkt des Programms des
GGGNHM - Guggenheim im Oberbilk?:
SUPREMATISMUS DES LEISTBAREN
Das Guggenheim ist Katalysator für die
Stadtentwicklung und Aufwertungsraum für die ausgestellte Kunst. Im Oberbilk
auf einer Brache an der Kölner Straße soll in den kommenden Jahren ein neuer
Block mit Wohnungen und Geschäften entstehen. Noch sind die Bagger aber nicht
angerollt. Diese Zeit nutzt die Künstler*innengruppe God’s Entertainment, um
Oberbilk sein eigenes Guggenheim zu schenken.
Er schafft Raum für gemeinsames Nachdenken über
städtisches Wohnen und Leben. Was kostet ein Quadratmeter Stadt? Wer profitiert
vom neuen Wohnraum? Für wen ist noch Platz, für wen nicht mehr? „Preis-1m²“ als der ausgeschnittene und
eingerahmte Punkt eines Ausrufezeichens der Wohnungspolitik. Alles scheint
gesagt. Punkt. Alles abgeschlossen. Punkt. Die Stunde Null des
Immobilienmarktes soll beginnen. Es ist nicht nur „Preis-1m²“ das ausgestellt
wird, sondern vielmehr die Empfindung des Leistbaren. Wohnung? Lüge. Form?
Lüge. Preis? Lüge. Boden? Lüge. Die Welt? Eine Lüge. „Preis-1m²“
beinhaltet alle Fragen, die man sich als wohnungssuchender Mensch stellt. Mit
„Schwarzen Quadrat“ setzte Kasimir Malewitsch die Ikone der modernen Kunst in
die Welt, und mit „Preis-1m²“ setzen God’s Entertainment die Ikone der
Wohnungspolitik in die Welt, welche die einkommensschwachen Bevölkerungsgruppen
diszipliniert und aus städtischen Vierteln verdrängt.

Presented
for the first time in 2020 in Floridsdorf, Vienna, then in 2022 at the Biennale
Innsbruck International in Innsbruck and at the Impulse Festival in Düsseldorf,
GGGNHM is a temporary, walk-in sculpture and auratic concept of the New York
Guggenheim Museum at the same time. In a playful way, GGGNHM suggests a subtle
redesign of a public space that opens up the city of Munich from Max Joseph
Platz in all directions - all the way to New York.
The
GGGNHM is situated as a possible place for thinking and practicing in public
space; it is a transparent, walk-in sculpture and social sculpture at the same
time. With its changing program, the exhibition venue enables an encounter
between art space and the public, festival guests, passers-by and diverse civil
society actors in the city of Munich. The aim is to encourage the public to
engage with the known, the unknown, the present and the past. The exhibition,
performance and supporting program, which will be experienced both in and
around the museum, will draw the dialogue outwards in order to turn an open,
but not "living" city square into a compact interface of diversity
and the immediate city center over the entire two weeks of the festival.
The
GGGNHM opens its doors on 20.10.2023 with a new exhibition, performance and
corresponding supporting program under the title: DEUTSCHKURS - GOETHE IN 15
TAGEN.
With
Deutschkurs, God's Entertainment attempt to artistically examine the German
language in its many manifestations: How is it used and deployed? What needs
does it serve? What functions does it fulfill? How does it perform and who does
it serve? Deutschkurs attempts to discuss a series of conceptual distinctions
and to shed light on the relationship between language and practice in Germany,
because people's experience is not subsumed in the concept of a dictionary or a
word.

Guggenheim in Floridsdorf?* opens its doors on September
17, 2020, at 7:00 pm with the exhibition series REMEMORY, which outlines all of
the changing levels of remembering, forgetting and disappearing. Like a vital
organism, a breathing museum lung, REMEMORY encourages visitors to engage with
the known and the unknown, the present and the past.
REMEMORIES are traces of the past to reflect on the present, a
playful and intellectual negotiation of facts, ideas, potentials and
uncomfortable questions in a time of being torn between (glorified) past and
fear of the future.

GGGNHM - guggenheim in innsbrooklyn? | Coming yesterday morning? | Missing
What
echoes? Are there still traces, places that
revive
the "of yesterday"? The afterlife of fascist aesthetics cannot always
be clearly experienced. It is the changing persistence of subliminal images,
often overwritten, reinterpreted and reinterpreted, sometimes here, sometimes
there, noticeably visible. The performance exposes the fascist aesthetic not as
an exclusively historical fact, but as a fluid, contemporary image narrative.

The
performative photographic work MISSING negotiates the politics of visibility
and memory on the basis of development processes in photography. If photography
is the preservation of memory, the recording of life, the question arises as to
what happens to memory when the images no longer exist. In Austria, countless
people and their stories disappeared from the collective memory in the 20th
century because their memories were never recorded.
MISSING
will enable the audience to experience this fluid, intangible transition from
creation, to being, to forgetting. (...)

GGGNHM – guggenheim in oberbilk? The Performances and
concerts, which will be experienced both in and around the museum, draw the
dialogue outward to make an open, but not consistently played, part of the city
the compact interface of a diversity and the immediate city core for a scant
two weeks.
In this way, the exhibition site itself
becomes the work; Oberbilk becomes the dialogue between art space and public,
art audience and market, residents and brokers, professionals and students,
Düsseldorfers and tourists, which is to be stimulated in advance. For the
museum is sent on its way through the city in a packaged form in order to find
its "place" and to involve individual city districts and a more
multi-layered public in the process of finding an art context. In this way, the
stylistic device and the realization of this work as a social sculpture can
become a dialogue on site and the museum an interactive exhibition space in the
public urban space, opening up questions about how, for example, an Oberbilk
can function as a central cultural space in the city and temporarily become the
center of Düsseldorf's art.
Focus of the program of the GGGNHM - Guggenheim in Oberbilk?:
SUPREMATISM
OF THE AFFORDABLE
The Guggenheim is a catalyst for urban
development and an upgrading space for the art on display. In Oberbilk, on a
wasteland on Kölner Straße, a new block of apartments and stores is to be built
in the coming years. But the excavators have not yet rolled in. The artists'
group God's Entertainment is using this time to give Oberbilk its own
Guggenheim.
It creates space for joint reflection on
urban living. What does a square meter of city cost? Who benefits from the new
living space? For whom is there still room, for whom no longer?
"Price-1m²" as the cut and framed point of an exclamation point of
housing policy. Everything seems to have been said. Period. Everything
completed. Period. Let the zero hour of the real estate market begin. It is not
just "price-1m²" that is on display, but rather the perception of
what is affordable. Apartment? Lie. Form? Lie. Price? Lie. Floor? Lie. The
world? Lie. "Price-1m²" contains all the questions that one asks
oneself as a person looking for an apartment. With "Black Square"
Kazimir Malevich put the icon of modern art into the world, and with "Price-1m²"
God's Entertainment put the icon of housing policy into the world, which
disciplines low-income groups and pushes them out of urban neighborhoods.
