Was wird unter den Teppich gekehrt in Deutschland und der gesamten europäischen Gemeinschaft? Diese Frage nehmen God’s Entertainment zum Anlass für eine künstlerische Recherche und die daraus resultierende Installation UNTER DEM TEPPICH. Angeleitet von der bosnischen Weberin und Künstlerin Ifeta wird in der ersten Festivalwoche mit Hilfe von Münchner*innen ein Teppich (Ćilim) angefertigt. Seine Fäden und seine Struktur aus Kett- und Schussfäden, die in einem komplexen Gewebe aufeinandertreffen, stehen symbolisch für gesellschaftliche Zusammenschlüsse und Menschen in Bewegung aller Art: von Tourist*innen über Migrant*innen, Geflüchteten, Asylant*innen, bis zu Gastarbeiter*innen. Die Weber*innen können bei der Arbeit im Lothringer13_Florida besucht werden. In der zweiten Phase des Projekts wird der Teppich ausgestellt und unter ihm entsteht eine Installation aus im Vorfeld gesammeltem Bild- und Videomaterial. Um diese multimediale Collage besuchen zu können, müssen die Zuschauer*innen selbst dort hin, wo alles Vergessene und Verdrängte sich sammelt: unter den Teppich.

What is swept under the carpet in Germany and in European society? God’s Entertainment take this question as a starting point for their artistic research and the installation that results from it. In the first week of the festival, guided by the Bosnian weaver and artist Ifeta and with help from residents of Munich, they weave a carpet (Ćilim). Its yarns, and its structure of warp and weft yarns converging in a complex textile, stands symbolically for social amalgamations and people on the move in all kinds of ways: from tourists to migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, through to guest workers. Visitors can go and see the weavers at work in the Lothringer Florida. In the second phase of the project, the carpet will be exhibited, and underneath it there will be an installation consisting of visual and video material. In order to visit this multimedia collage, the viewers must themselves go to a place where all the forgotten and repressed things have collected: under the carpet.

Performans i umjetnička instalacija Pod tepihom ukazuje na skrivanje činjenica iz političkog, kulturno-društvenog te medijsko-javnog prostora i života unutar i izvan Hrvatske, činjenica koje bi jednom društvu trebale biti važne, a sve u duhu fraze: pomesti (nešto) pod tepih. Na tkalačkom stanu istkana je nova tapiserija čiji je motiv Lijepa Naša. Ona ne želi da se dignuta prašina o njenim krvavim rukama apsorbira i razgradi, nego se redovno gura pod tepih. Stoga se U ime obitelji i dalje tka hrvatski ćilim, novi ili stari, za prekrivanje povijesnih mrlja i svega što se krije iza grba Republike Hrvatske. Svjedoci smo društvenih promjena i korupcije u korist jačih, izolacije i omalovažavanja manjina, revizije povijesti i mržnje „drugih“ odnosno „drugačijih“. Drugim riječima, svjedoci smo sve učestalijih događaja bez moralnog kompasa u Republici Hrvatskoj. I to sve U ime obitelji! Međutim, kako ne bi svojim svjedočenjem narušili suverenitet vlastite nacije i ujedno zatajili, kao Sveti Petar, pred Domovinom, guramo sve pod tepih u znanju da nas štiti imunitet, jer nasreću nemamo „kriva krvna zrnca“. Također smo svjedoci da hrvatski rod ne mrzi one koji čine zlo, ni samo zlo, koliko onoga tko imenuje zlo.Mi što ga na ovaj ili sličan način imenujemo, otvaramo prostor za raspravu, spajamo radikalne teme s radikalnom vizualnošću, s napomenom da ne nudimo rješenja za suvremeni hrvatski fašizam i ne krijemo se iza anonimnih ili privatnih komentara mržnje na socijalnim mrežama, već podvirujući se pod tepih otkrivamo ono što drugi neće. The performance and artistic installation Under The Carpet exposes the coverup of different facts pertaining to the political, cultural, social, and media landscape within and outside of Croatia, facts that should be of concern to society, all in accordance with the phrase: to sweep (something) under the rug. A new tapestry has been woven at the loom and the motif is Lijepa naša (Our Beauty – reference to Croatia). It does not want to acknowledge the blood on her hands, instead duly sweeping the topic under the rug. Therefore, in the name of the family, the Croatian rug is still being woven, either new or old style, to cover up the historical controversies and everything else that is hidden using the Croatian coat of arms as a guise. We are witnesses to societal changes and corruption in favour of the strong, to the isolation and discrimination of minorities, to historical revisionism and the hatred towards those perceived as “others” or “different”. In other words, we are witnesses to the increase in morally disoriented events in the Republic of Croatia. And all in the name of the family! However, so as not to endanger the sovereignty of our nation with our testimonies or, like Saint Peter, fail our fatherland, we sweep everything under the rug knowing that our immune system is guarding us since we luckily have the proper “blood cells”. We are also witnesses to the fact that the Croatian people seemingly do not hate those who commit evil, nor the evil itself, as much as those who expose the evil. Those of us who expose it in one way or the other open up space for discussions, connect radical topics with radical visuality, not claiming to have solutions regarding contemporary Croatian fascism nor hiding behind anonymous or private comments tainted with hatred on social networks, instead raising the rug and exposing what others are reluctant to do.
